Our Series of Organizations
The "Link" series of organizations, created by students, is dedicated to discovering connections between different things and building bridges between various groups. We aim to serve as a link between diverse histories, cultures, and academic fields around the world. Our mission also includes establishing interdisciplinary connections and organizing academic discussion activities. As an eclectic series of organizations, the "Link" initiative encompasses many sub-activities, and we invite you to learn about and join them.
About Us
Our activity, "Link: Know to Feel - Yi Culture Preservation Public Welfare Organization," is the first sub-activity under the Link series. It is dedicated to breaking the biases mentioned earlier and enhancing connections between different groups. Prejudices between social groups stem fundamentally from a lack of understanding, much like the public's perception of the Yi ethnic group. Our organization aims to present the Yi people's historical development and vibrant culture to the public, helping them gain an initial, objective understanding of this minority group and dispelling existing stereotypes.
Subsequently, our organization will introduce local specialty products to the public through nonprofit sales, such as Leibo navel oranges, Yi silver jewelry, and Yi lacquerware with distinctive local patterns. The proceeds from these sales will be used as our charitable fund to support philanthropic activities in rural areas of Liangshan Prefecture. We aim to make real contributions and changes to the lives of the Yi people. This innovative approach sets us apart from ordinary public welfare organizations. Instead of merely promoting abstract concepts, we bring tangible representations of what we advocate directly to people. By doing so, we create a journey from "understanding" to "experiencing" the unique culture of the Yi people.
In this process, we further dispel the majority's stereotypes about minority groups, deepen the connections between different groups, and create bridges between them.
